Beer production in the Łomża brewery started in 1968. At that time, the brewery was a state-owned enterprise, part of the National Food Industry Enterprise (Przedsiębiorstwo Przemysłu Spożywczego – PPS). From the very beginning, it specialised in the production of bottom-fermented light beers. At first, its initial production capacity was around 250,000 hectolitres of beer per year – just enough to satisfy local demand.
The Łomża brand, the leading name among all beers brewed in the Łomża area, quickly won the hearts of successive generations of beer lovers and new markets.
Łomża has long been one of the most popular beers in Mazovia, Podlasie, Warmia and Masuria, and today it is enjoyed in all other regions of Poland too. The brewery in Łomża continues to develop dynamically and has a well-established position both in Poland and around the world.
Since it was established, the brewery has increased its production capacity almost four-fold.
Van Pur has been the owner of the Łomża brewery since 2011.
